Seals on Weymouth beach this summer near Cafe Oasis.
The cottage has a new rear garden with access from the kitchen. The views across the field behind the cottage are fantastic and the evening sunshine is wonderful.
If you would like to walk to the beach from the cottage the above map shows the route from Upwey Railway station which is 5 minutes walk from the cottage. In total the walk from the cottage to the beach takes about 40 minutes.
The beach huts on Portland are fun to walk around and also to take photographs. You can read a recent piece by Piranha Photography about photographing the beach huts on the blog. One of the photographs was featured on the BBC website – see below.
Also on Portland near Portland Bill you will find the Lobster Pot restaurant which provides lunch and ice creams for walkers.
Portland Bill light house is open to the public and if you have the energy you can climb the stairs up to see the light. We recommend a visit to Portland as a great day out in any weather.
All new kitchen with new gas hob and oven…
The terrace is ready for the summer with wonderful new pots of geraniums.
Had a delightful week here – cottage is charming with lovely views towards the Ridgeway from the back and a pretty garden at the front. Great dog walks all around and very easy to get into Weymouth – 10 minutes on the bus from the end of the road. Many interesting and attractive places to explore along the coast – Ringstead Bay, Golden Cap, Lulworth Cove -and we enjoyed walks along Weymouth Bay and playing tennis at the Greenhill courts – £5.00 for an hour and a spectacular view! Boys (and the dog) had fun at the Weymouth summer carnival too. Cottage was extremely clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. A great summer holiday.
We are having a great time thank you!
There’s plenty of room for the four of us and everything we need.
Love the artwork!
Just got back from a really relaxing time in Upwey and Weymouth – your charming cottage was lovely as ever and contributed greatly to the enjoyment of our holiday.
